When I talk to people that aren't in our company, I get this question a lot: What do you do again?!
So, I broke it down:
Training: I coordinate and implement training in our office. I proctor a lot of the sessions myself, but we have area experts come in from time to time, as well as national speakers when time and funds allow.
Technology: Just call me the resident geek! It is my job to keep the company up to task with the latest technology. From the transaction management system, to the website, to social networking, I read and learn, and ask tons of questions to make sure that the agents in our company know that they are always on the leading edge (not the bleeding edge).
Network: I maintain the phones, security system, computer & copier networks in our building.
I graduated with an Associates Degree in Business Management, spent several years in the corporate end of retail, and as part of Gen X/Y I am a full on tech junkie. Although I have had no formal training in technology apart from a few classes in college, and webinars...I do like this stuff, so I tend to think that technology is something that I know (and if I don't, and it interests me, I like to think I know how to find out the answers!)
