I LOVE real estate, and I appear to have an affinity for it.  I began investing in real estate in 1999 and have learned a lot along the way and bought some great homes.  I have enjoyed this experience immensely, and I find that it helps me greatly when serving my clients.

But it's not just about real estate - it's about the people I work with:  my current & future clients, financial professionals, title and escrow, insurance professionals, my peers, and all others involved.  Real estate is serious business, but that still doesn't mean we can't have fun with it, does it?

Some people think I am crazy for being in a career in real estate with the way the current state of the housing and finance industry.  But, I have always walked to the beat of my own drum.  My primary motivator for working in real estate is not financially driven, but because it is something I truly enjoy.  I am up for all of the challenges, looking at them as opportunities to grow and learn, not pitfalls.  This is no fairweather real estate agent, my friend!

I think it is important to have a mantra - a slogan - which tells people what you are all about.  I think I have found one for myself which is simple and succinct:

Of course I want to act in a responsible manner in all my real estate dealings, but I want to go further than that:

I want to be responsible to my family. I want to be responsible to my community. I want to be responsible to my industry. I want to be responsible to the Earth. And of course, I want to be responsible to my clients.

Serving YOUR needs - I promise to help you find the property that YOU want, and I accomplish that because of my attentive, thorough, and details-oriented nature.  Sure, I may bring up features or options that you may not have mentioned, but that is just so that I can always get a more accurate image of what your needs are.  YOU are the driver - I am the facilitator. Competent support team - I am just one of the pieces in the puzzle when it comes to the real estate "game".  Other players are lenders, insurance providers, title & escrow, etc.  I already have a team of these players, and it's a great team!  We'll help you win in the real estate game. I have lived, worked, and played in the South Bay for almost 10 years now - and counting!  I have driven the streets to and from work, my family and I have frequented the beaches, we have dined all over (shout out to Wahoos Fish Taco in Manhattan Beach, the BEST restaurant in the whole world), shopped here, and enjoyed this wonderful area that I made into home after relocating from the cold, northern regions of Canada.

Lending - I will introduce you to a competent lending professional that suits your needs and situation, and we will all sit down together to review your housing needs, financial situation, and future financial goals to find you the best loan product for you. If you live out of state or out of the area, we can begin your search before you even step foot in the South Bay - I've done it before, and I know what it takes! Schools - For families with school age kids, I will provide you with a detailed school review of the neighborhoods you are interested in.  I can even arrange for you to interview the school principal!

Sellers:

Nationwide marketing - Your home will be marketed on the MLS and will have a presence on the web, making it accessible not only across the nation, but also all around the world! Personalized marketing & selling strategy - Each community, home, and seller are different.  Why would you expect a "cookie-cutter", "one-size-fits-all" plan to sell your home? Competively priced - I will thoroughly research values in your neighborhood, allowing us to set a competitive asking price for your home.  In today's market, this is key to securing a fair and timely offer and closing. Open house - the majority of most moves occur within 10 miles of where a person already lives.  Open houses are a great way for your neighbors to stop on in during their weekend errands or house hunting trips. Buying agent selection - if you are moving out of the area, or out of state, you will need a real estate agent in that area to help you find a place to live.  If you haven't found one yet, I can help you screen candidates, to find the one that is the best fit for you. Staging - Staging is extremely popular, and it's no surpise as to why.  Staged homes sell faster, and usually for a higher price compared to a comparable home that was not staged.  My staging associates can work with your home, style, and your budget.

Real Estate Investors & Foreign Buyers

I am a real estate investor myself, and I always look at every piece of real estate with an investor's eyes.  I am also a foreigner, having made a large move from Canada to Southern California over 10 years ago.  I am familiar with what investors and foreign buyers are looking for and what they have to deal with.  I have also served foreign buyers in the past when considering the purchase of real estate in Costa Rica.  To top it off, I have also personally purchased out-of-state real estate safely and successfully.  That is only possible with the help of a good agent, and mine has taught me the proper way to do it.

Thorough visual inspection - don't expect a few pics.  Expect more like 60-100 pictures for a single property.  And you will also receive a written layman's visual inspection of the subject property.  Of course, I can also arrange for a professional inspection as well. Support team - I have assembled a team that can provide investors and foreign buyers with value-added services - lending, discount currency exchange, etc. Investment analysis - I can perform a thorough investment analysis on subject properties in an effort to help investors identify income/investment properties that fit in with their investment strategy. Property management - Shorewood provides property management services in the South Bay for our clients' income properties - a one-stop shop! Interior decorating services - For those out-of-town buyers who don't want to be hassled with the task of furnishing and decorating their new home, my team members can do this for you.
