Employed by the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce (Nassau) for twenty-two years, Ruby held the post of Executive Director from 1987-2002. She was extremely effective in the organization and management of the day-to-day affairs which included the administrative oversight of the Real Estate Association.
  
Just prior to entering the real estate field in 2009, Ruby served as Project Manager for the IDB funded STEMM (Sustainable Tourism Entrepreneurial Management and Marketing) pilot project, spearheaded by the Bahamas Hotel Association in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and other public sector agencies. Ruby was primarily responsible for organizing the country-wide awareness and orientation program, SME network conformation, and training for stakeholders. 

As a direct result of the environmental awareness training received through the STEMM project, Ruby is currently working with two (2) local “environmentally conscious” developers to promote and sell their Luxury ‘GREEN’ homes.

Ruby’s former career choices no doubt helped her develop the skills to do the best job possible for her real estate clients. However, the confines of a structured, business office did impose limitations. Ruby much prefers being able to rely on her own efforts, and loves real estate for the freedom it allows her to give her clients the service she thinks they deserve. She also loves that, as she says, “This is a relationship business – a relationship that can grow, only if there is mutual trust, confidence, and respect”.

A breast cancer survivor, Ruby is a member of the Cancer Society of the Bahamas and tries to give as much support as possible to the organization’s ongoing activities. Ruby is a single parent with two adult sons and two grandsons Rayvaughn age 9 and Matt Jr. 6; she shares her love of plants/gardening, blues and jazz with her older son Marcus, who also plays the lead guitar. Second son, Matt Sr. shares her passion for real estate. 

A graduate of Miami Northwestern, Miami, Florida, Ruby believes that education should be ongoing but higher education should be focused and practicable. Over the years, she has pursued various fields of study at institutions in the Bahamas, The Caribbean, U.S.A., and Europe. She holds certification in Business and Organization Management, international relations, Certified Chamber Executive (CCE), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and Real Estate Sales.

Ruby was born on the beautiful island of Eleuthera, perhaps best known for its unbelievable pink sandy beaches, surfing, bone fishing, and pineapples; she is currently looking to expand her personal real estate listings under the Wong's Realty brokerage and wishes to collaborate with active brokers and agents already operating on the island.
