Let me start by introducing myself,
My name is Susan VanCuren, owner and creator of Classy & Simple Redesign Solutions.
I am a HSR Certified Professional Home Stager and Redesigner and Home Font Designer. Serving the New London county areas. I specialize in both home staging and redesign. I am also an active member of the American Society of Home Stagers and Redesigners.
I have been married for 20 yrs. My husband and I have 4 children with twin girls that have autism. That can be very challenging but rewarding all at the same time. It also led me to find ways to make our home much easier for them to function. This challenge has made me the person I am today. I have learned to be passionate and understand how life can be during hard and difficult times. My husband is in the Navy and as such, we have lived in many locations that has allowed me to see a wide assortment of designs. Having traveled throughout the U.S., I have seen how people live in different ways and this has provided me with much help in preparing to redesign homes. I know, from experience, how difficult it is and understand how stressful moving can be.
I have always had a passion for interior design and love finding Simple inexpensive solutions to create a Classy look for very little money by using things you already own. It started when I was in my teens, we didn't have much money so I had come up with new ways to make my room nice by using what I had. When my friends would come over they'd say that it was nice and asked if I could do that for them. Then I got married and we lived in Navy housing. I tried to come up with new ways to make our home stand out from the others. Our friends and neighbors always commented on how beautiful it looked. All of this sparked their interests to have me redecorate their homes. I started to watch HGTV and I was inspired even more. Shortly thereafter, I found myself in love with redecorating homes. Shortly thereafter, it made me interested in the field. I decided to further develop my talents which led me to attend a school to become a professional in Home staging and Redesign and ultimately begin my own business.
Education
I am proud to be a HSR Certified Professional Home Stager and Redesigner and have completed the most comprehensive home staging and redesign certification course in the country provided by the Home Staging Resource. The HSR Certification program is accredited by the Real Estate Staging Association (RESA), which is the only third-party, governing association for the home staging industry. The Home Staging Resource is the first, and one of the only truly accredited staging training courses available for the staging industry which has undergone this accreditation process.
After completing a detailed Staging course from HSR, I am still pursuing more additional educational classes to maintain myself current, fresh and full of ideas
I offer a look, feel and function that will best help you to see the homes potential. I specialize in the Home Staging, Redesigning, Depersonalizing, Decluttering, Organizing and improving curb appeal aspects of home staging. I will also assist in the selection of appropriate paint colors, flooring, lighting, furniture and accessories while maintaining any budget.
