Get to Know Kathy Carlson

I have been living in Westfield for 22 years along with my husband, while raising my two grown daughters. I started the early part of my business career as an Administrative Stenographer for over ten years. In the early 90's I was the founder of a custom-designed hand painted clothing business and then branched out into interior design which I have been doing for the past 15 years. I come to this profession of staging, not because of my love of interior design but my passion for helping people become successful. As a decorator and now a home stager, I feel privileged to work with people inside and outside of their homes. My ASP training has given me the tools necessary to help people sell their homes in the shortest amount of time and for the most money, thereby allowing them to move on to the next stage of their life.

In addition, I am an active volunteer within the community, providing our time to organizations such as the Westfield Service League, Community Food Bank, and the Agape Soup Kitchen. We have also spent time volunteering with our local churches along with the PTA.

If you are going to be selling your home or your home has been sitting on the market for too long, staging should be your next step.

In today's market, staging your home is a critical part of getting it sold quickly--and for top dollar. In 2009, professionally staged homes spent 89% less time on the market than un-staged homes.*

According to the Wall Street Journal Guide to Property, "There are three primary factors home shoppers consider when deciding whether to bite on a property: the location, the condition and the price."

As a seller, you want to hold firm on the price and you cannot change your location, so that leaves "condition" as the most important variable in selling your house.

At Stage 2 Sell, we're knowledgeable at staging your home for resale and can provide expert advice on the many aspects of enhancement that will help you accomplish your selling goals. We will eliminate excess clutter and rearrange furniture to improve the flow of a room. We will enhance features with lighting and paint, accessorize and depersonalize as well as offer suggestions on curb appeal, since enticing buyers into your home is the first step toward getting it sold. Stage 2 Sell can help you to get a quick sale and at top dollar.

My Partner Linda Thayer and I will be your trusted advisors through each step of the process.

Staging is not decorating, it is a marketing tool which brings traffic to your door and shows off features of your house.
