Just completed a bank owned property representing the buyer. Have been in contact with the buyer for the previous five years. She lived in a neighboring state. Started working with her in Feburary. We had one short sale that fell through because of an arbitrary appraisal condition. Since she was buying the home with a reverse mortgage, we went through two lenders. The first stopped doing reverse mortgages. The second stopped returning phone calls. Finally, the third worked with us and we got the mortgage approved after some underwriting conditions were taken care of. During this whole process, I was in constant contact with the lender, titile company and my client. My tenacity is one reason this deal closed. Another reason was my staying on top of the situation and confirming everthing. For example, in order to speak with a person at the title company, I would call and say, I want to hold for so and so. It didn't matter how long I was on hold, just so a person answered instead of voice mail. Just visited Patti yesterday in her new home. She gave me canned apricots and I presented her with a house warming gift.
