SHANNON W. KING is known as the “Real Estate Road Warrior”, speaking across the country about how business professionals can take their offices mobile by embracing technology and marketing tools in new ways. King, a practicing Realtor since 2000, manages two brokerages in different states by using virtual office technologies. This allows her time to sell real estate and keep in touch with her agents and clients while she’s on the go. In 2003, King founded TriBella Realty in Austin, Texas, which later expanded to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. She is also the co-founder of Schoolhouse Realty in San Diego, Calif., with her business partner and broker Gaby Preston. Schoolhouse Realty gives 10 percent of its earnings to schools of their clients’ choices.
King also is an active voice for the real estate industry, serving on several leadership committees with the National Association of Realtors, including the Executive Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, Liaison for Information, Communication & Professional Development 2011, Realtor University Development Team, and the 2009 chair of the Young Professionals Network Advisory Group. In 2005, she was selected as one of Realtor Magazine’s “30 Under 30”, which recognizes top producing real estate professionals under the age of 30. King has been featured in numerous news articles about the industry, such as in Marie Claire and MSN, and also has appeared on HGTV’s “House Hunters”.
Before receiving her license, Shannon King was a client herself for six months searching for "that perfect home." It was during this time she realized her passion for real estate. Her first home was truly a "fixer-upper." It took approximately 15 months for a complete renovation. She was not only the homeowner: she was the architect, the interior decorator, and the general contractor. From this experience, her passion for renovating homes grew into a serious interest in investing in Real Estate. After taking on several other major home renovations she took the plunge and became a landlord. Her experiences of being a past teacher, a home buyer, a general contractor, and a landlord, led to her success of being a Realtor.
Her approach to working with clients is asking "How does it affect your overall portfolio? Whether you are buying your first home, dream home, investment property, or selling, what really matters is the long term financial advantages you will gain from owning that property." She is fully committed to being a resource for her clients before, during and after the transaction. One way she does this is through education. King hosts seminars and classes on Home Buying, Investment Properties, and Selling Homes each month.
