Located just south of Washington, DC, Southern Maryland is comprised of three counties, Charles, Calvert and St. Mary's, which are surrounded by water -700 miles of pristine shoreline!- The Potomac River, Patuxent River and the Chesapeake Bay.

Charles and Calvert are suburbs of Washington, DC and are in commuting distance to the Pentagon, Bowling Air Force Base, Andrews Air Force Base and the Naval Surface Warfare Center. St. Mary's county is the home of the Patuxent River Naval Air Station and historical St Mary's City.
