Born and raised in Daytona Beach, Robert has deep roots in Volusia County. As President of Martin Daytona Corporation, a diversified investment company which is more than 50 years old, he has over 30 years’ of experience in real estate investment, construction and land development. As a licensed Florida Certified General Contractor, Robert has presided over prosperous and highly regarded companies that have built the city’s infrastructure, including its highways, bridges, sewer and water systems and has personally invested in the area’s growth as a general partner in the development of the oceanfront Marriott Hotel (now the Hilton) in Daytona Beach, as well as many other subdivisions, homes and condominiums. He currently serves on the local board of Directors for SunTrust Bank and has served as Chairman of the Board of the Greater Daytona Area Chamber of Commerce, President of United Way and numerous other community associations and activities.
