I am a lifetime resident of Plain Township, and graduated from GlenOak High School in 1982. While at GlenOak, I was a majorette in the marching band. After high school, I attended Stark State College of Technology (Stark Technical College at the time), and graduated with an A.A.B. in Business Management in 1984. While attending college, I earned the Ore Ida Foods Scholarship for top female business student.
After college, I entered the family business, The Yohe Supply Co. My brother and I represented the 4th generation of our small industrial supply store located in downtown Canton, Ohio. During my 18 years at Yohe Supply, I worked in many different areas of the business. I gained valuable experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Human Resources, Inventory Control, Purchasing, and Management. I vividly remember the huge challenge I took upon myself when we computerized the business for the first time. It was a process that took several years in a business that had very antiquated records and an inventory of over 15,000 items.
In 1996 I became President of the Yohe Supply Company after my father was forced to retire due to health reasons. I recall the day when my dedicated father drove himself to work and started walking up the flight of stairs to the 2nd floor while having a stroke. Instantly I assumed complete responsibility of the operations and staff of around 12 employees.
The valuable lessons that I learned from the family business will never be forgotten. Above all, I believe the most important thing my father installed in me was a great work ethic. In a family business, there is no where to hide, and you have to wear many hats at the same time. As you can imagine, it was an earth-shattering decision when in 1998 we decided to sell the family business to a team of brothers. If you are familiar with Canton, Ohio, our city gradually lost quite a few industrial companies, in addition to a period of time when the "big box" chains started to enter our market area. After 108 years, we as a family mutually decided that it was time to move on and seek different adventures. I continued to work with the new owners of the business until January 2000 when our 2nd son was born. I will always have cherished memories of working in the same company as my Great-Grandfather, Grandpa, Dad, and Brother. More importantly, I learned priceless real life experience that can never be duplicated.
In the back of my mind, I guess I always knew I wanted to do something else, something of my very own. I always had a secret passion for homes. I remember driving and always looking at houses and wondering what they looked like inside and who the people were. When my husband and I were first married 22 years ago, we loved watching all the old home improvement shows on TV. Our passion for homes grew about 10 years ago when we purchased our first duplex and fixed it up ourselves. From that passion grew my interest in selling Real Estate. I absolutely love working with home buyers and home sellers and truly establish some wonderful personal relationships through the process. I am honored to be able to work in this great field of Real Estate and hope that someday when I retire that I will be able to look back at my career with pride and fond memories.
On a personal note, my husband Dan and I have been married for 22 years. We have two handsome and smart boys, Brad (13) and Brian (10). I love being a wife and mother. I am a true animal lover and we have one cocker spaniel, Cricket. Our family loves traveling to Florida and new places and we try to live our lives to their fullest every day with no regrets.
My business philosopy is to offer personal, passionate service to my clients. I try to always conduct my business the right way and to treat each client with the respect they deserve. The best compliment that I can receive is when a friend, past client, customer or family member recommends me to one of their friends.
