As a young girl seeing "Gone with the Wind" for the first time, I was struck by the words of Scarlett O'Hara's father: "The land is the only thing in the world that amounts to anything." I am the daughter of a carpenter and the mother of a carpenter. I've done free lance interior design. If you mix that all up, you wind up with a Realtor!
Now add in the facts that I'm "homegrown" -- a Toledo native -- I love to find a great bargain and find house hunting to be a never ending adventure, you can rest assured my goal is to find you the best house we can at the best price! I delight in the negotiating process, and my nearly 14 years of experience will give you an edge in turning your dream home into reality.
Sophia Margaret and Lillia, two greyhounds, "own" me. I am delighted to be the mother of 2 sons and have a granddaughter and grandson -- all who live out of town -- so I have plenty of time to spend with you. My interests are many and varied so we are sure to find items of common interest.
For representing sellers, my design background will work to your benefit in staging your home for a quicker and more profitable sale. I will give you an honest assessment of what I believe your home will sell for. Anyone can tell you what you want to hear, but you are paying me to tell you what you need to hear especially in current market conditions.
Who are the "Friends" in Nancy & Friends? People just like you, clients, people I've come to know and respend in related real estate businesses and those who refer others to me which comprise over 90% of my business! I am well aware without you I would have no busness. You put the sparkle in my eyes!

Because my business primarily consists of people referred to me, I have an interesting mix of areas of expertise. For instance right now I have two lots in an older neighborhood ($12,500) and an incredible beautiful. exciting, interesting one-of-a-kind home built over its own 2-slip boathouse on historical Johnson's Island on Lake Erie -- an island reachable by a causeway -- yes, you can drive to it ($2,600,000). Both are of equal importance to me because it is not just about land and buildings, it is about the people. It is exciting to see them reach their goals -- to get from point A to point B!
There is a special place in my heart for first time buyers. One of my favorite memories is a young client who opened her first checking account and the first check she wrote was for the earnest money deposit. Since that time, I've helped her brother and sister find homes.
Lately I've been clearing out "stuff" accumulated in my own home over many years. This coupled with thinking about all the "treasures" held by my 90-year old mother, has given me an interest in helping older people make a move to a condo and sometimes to assisted living. I am aware that the items in their homes are more than just "things", but are tied to special memories of tender moments and friends and family and it can become overwhelming with so many decisisons to make. My own experience gives me an understanding in this area.
