Originally, I wanted to turn my hobby-level woodworking skills into a full time business. When I spoke with others who were doing just that, they all pretty much gave me the same advice; "Ray, if you want to make a small fortune building furniture, start with a large fortune and work your way down".
I knew I wanted to work with furniture, I wanted a job that was project oriented. It had to have a beginning, a middle and an end. And I wanted to help people. Six weeks later, I interviewed for my first job in the relocation industry. That was 17 years ago and I'm still going strong!
My elevator speech goes, "I assist individuals and families as they move through a transitory time in their lifes. I help people with their move." It's more than just moving furniture. As I explained to a Realtor friend, she sells the house. I move the home. Because no two moves are alike, it's never a dull moment! I love what I do.
