By contrast, the industry of buying and selling real estate has remained relatively static, dominated by large brokerages of independent contractors, and paid a commission based on a property's selling price regardless of local market conditions, housing prices, or the cost or effort required to sell different properties.

With the rise of web-based data, the information advantage once held by the traditional broker over the consumer is rapidly eroding. The real estate industry is undergoing a revolution, not only in how its products and services are marketed and sold, but also in how consumers learn about, shop for, purchase, and repurchase them. We envision real estate should be, more than ever before, about service and individuality, not access. It is our belief the real estate industry should operate in a manner similar to other service professions where the consumer dictates the services they desire or require. In addition, we are of the opinion that all fees directly correlate to the amount and value of the services received, not on some ambiguous figure.
