First and foremost, you should select the agent that you believe in your heart will hold your interests and needs high above their own needs.  While I appreciate the commission I earn on each transaction you entrust to me and yes, it pays a few bills, it's not my goal.  My goal is to earn a lifetime of referrals from you, but I can only earn that if I exceed your expectations, and completely "wow" you!  If I do that for you, then I will have earned those referrals from you.  That lifetime of referrals is my greatest passion because it cares for my family and proves I have done my job for you!  So you see, we need each other!

Secondly, you should select an agent who is extremely knowledgeable about their profession and seeking to always expand that knowledge.  North Carolina requires very few classroom hours of training for an agent, but this business is very complex, and the day we stop our education, we are moving backwards!  We must always remain ahead of the curve in marketing, negotiations, contracts, and most importantly, understanding human behavior!  That's why I am constantly taking new courses.
