Get to Know Micki Lyons

"Break Away from the Pack...Work with a Leader"... has always been the motto of Micki Lyons. When Micki received her real estate license in 1986, she made a decision to be an expert in her field. She holds Associate Broker licenses in Virginia and Maryland, a Virginia State Instructor license, an Accredited Buyer Representative designation and is a Graduate Realtor Institute member.  She recently has acquired a new designation of "Certified Distressed Property Expert" since Micki feels that in order to help her clients during these challenging economic times, she must be as knowledgeable as she can be.  She is a "Multi-Million" dollar producer and achieved "Top Rookie" status during her first year in real estate. She has also coached and mentored new agents in the industry. Micki's philosophy is that she is not in the housing sale business but is in the people business. "When people move from one home to another, they usually have a lot of memories wrapped up in their homes and even though they may be moving into their dream home they always have an emotional attachment to the home they are saying good-bye to. It is my job, as their realtor, to be sensitive to this. That is why I classify this as a people business."

When Micki is not working with clients, teaching or mentoring real estate agents, she loves to spend time with her family which includes her two married daughters, her three grandchildren and her husband, Ken. She and Ken love to hop on their Harley Davidson motorcycles and have toured many places in North America including the California Coastline, the Rocky Mountains, the East Coast and both Eastern and Western Canada.

When Micki chooses to "Break Away from the Pack", she really does mean it.

During the last several years in the real estate market, many changes have taken place.  We have seen the housing market reach heights that we never thought were possible and then we saw that same market fall to depths that have not been witnessed in the past 50 years.  We also saw many realtors and brokerages leave the business, they could not sustain themselves. I have been in real estate since 1986 and I understand that this is a cyclical business.  I know how to adapt my skills to help you in the changing market place. During the past two years, I have listed and sold over 60 foreclosure properties, however, many homeowners are now able to modify their loans with the lenders and the number of foreclosed homes has significantly decreased.  Many of these homeowners would like to sell their homes but the sale price of their home is still worth less than they owe.  What can they do to save their credit but still sell their house.  I have become an expert in the short sale transaction.  A short sale is when the proceeds of your sale will not cover the outstanding mortgage that you owe to your lender.  I am able to negotiate with your lender to take the reduced amount and absolve you of your outstanding debt to the bank.

My many years of experience as a licensed real estate broker, real estate instructor and managing broker gives me the tools and expertise to allow me to help you with your short sale.

Don't let foreclosure wreck your credit...contact me and let's work together to get your home sold and keep your credit worthiness intact.
