Get to know Michael Sims
With over twenty-three years of real estate and mortgage banking experience, Mr. Sims hosts a wealth of experience at your service. Within his career, he has conducted feasibility studies, syndications, acquisition and disposition transactions, leasing, tenant and investor representation, commercial and residential development, project management, construction management, asset management, land assemblage and development, rehabilitation of existing properties (residential and commercial), delinquent tax purchasing, foreclosures and loan default workouts, consulting and investment analysis. With on-going endeavors in real estate finance, Mr. Sims' technical abilities in structuring complex transactions facilitates brokerage and investment goals for clients as well as personal endeavors.
Mr. Sims has been a board member of the Northern Illinois Commercial Association of Realtors, and also a member in good standing of the National Association of Realtors, The Illinois Association of Realtors, and The Chicago Association of Realtors. Prior to entering Finance & Real Estate, Mr. Sims was a top-producer in the Micro Computer marketplace. Responsible for negotiating volume purchase agreements with top Midwestern corporations and increasing the bottom line profitability for Compushop, a subsidiary of Bell Atlantic Corporation. During his tenure with Compushop, Mr. Sims was presented with the President's Award for Excellence in Sales. Mr. Sims has also been instrumental in bringing several products to market on a national basis. In 1984 he co-developed and implemented a software program which was the first to electronically transmit billing information from visiting nurse organizations to Blue Cross Blue Shield. The product was implemented on a national basis and licensing rights were eventually sold to a larger software house. Mr. Sims was also a co-founder of International Games, Inc. which was responsible for the highly successful and internationally renown card game UNO. Currently UNO is owned and distributed by Mattel, Inc.
Educationally, Mr. Sims studied finance at Georgetown University and has received a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Marketing from Loyola University of Chicago. Mr. Sims has been a board member of the Northern Illinois Commercial Association of Realtors, and also a member of the National Association of Realtors, The Illinois Association of Realtors, The Chicago Association of Realtors, and The Three-Rivers Association of Realtors.
