I grew up in South Minneapolis where I enjoyed so much of what Minneapolis has to offer. My friends and I rode our bikes to swim at Lake Nokomis or Lake Harriet almost every summer day. In the winter we went sledding or skating at one of the local parks, and every Friday night in junior high we enjoyed roller skating at the Roller Gardens in St. Louis Park. (Remember the Bee Gees and Snowball)?I attended college at Valparaiso University and completed my BA in Communications. At Valpo had the opportunity to participate in one of their great study abroad programs. I went to Mexico to learn more about the people and culture and to improve my Spanish. I had such a wonderful time and made such great friends that I returned to Mexico after I graduated and studied International Relations and French at the Universidad de las Américas. After a year, I returned to Minnesota and completed my MA in Hispanic Linguistics as well as the Postbac program in Education, both at our outstanding University of Minnesota. 

I have taught Spanish and ESL for the last 15 years or so at the U of MN and in the Edina, Bloomington and Minneapolis Public Schools. I have now decided to re-focus my career and become a Realtor. I believe that home ownership contributes to healthy communities and healthy schools. I work for expanded home ownership opportunities for those who desire their own home.
