ANNAPOLIS & MARYLAND'S EASTERN SHORE....Is truly one of the most beautiful areas in the nation to live in and is one of the most highly sought after.  Talbot County by itself has more waterfront per sq. mile than any other county in the continental U.S.  It is no wonder that the famed author of "Chesapeake" James Michener loved the St. Michaels area so much. Yes.......St. Michaels is a popular attraction to both boaters and tourists, and has a great mix of history, (famous for "The Town That Fooled The British") gift shops, restaurants, lodging, Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, and has that great small town charm.  Oxford...close by was offically founded in 1694 making it one of Maryland's oldest towns.  Oxford is located just minutes from both St. Michaels and Easton and is near the famed "Tred Avon River."  The Tred Avon served as one of two ports of entry for the British trade vessels in colonial times.  Today Oxford is a quiet, quaint town that is enjoyed by it's residents and vistors who appreciate it's quality of life, charm and history.  Both St. Michaels &  Oxford are also well known for there many, many beautiful and very private waterfront estates and are host to some very famous residents.  The Kent Island area is located on the west coast of Queen Anne's County and sits at the base of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and connects Maryland's western shore with the eastern shore.  The Island is a favorite of many, residents as well as visitors.  The residents love the Island for it's gracious waterfront lifestyle that it offers and it's proximity to the Bay Bridge for an easy commute to the western shore.  The visitors love it for the waterfront, marinas and restaurants.  The very beautiful city of Annapolis is a place where history still lives in a museum by the name of "Annapolis." Lose yourself in a quaint seaport village steeped with hundreds of years of sailing history....were the feeling is laid back and the local fare is seasoned with the flavors of the Chesapeake Bay.  One visit....and you'll want to come back time and time again.  There are many great places to live in the Annapolis area, and if you enjoy waterfront living there are some beautiful areas to check out on South River, Severn River, West River and etc.  The town of Chestertown is another great place and is located on the banks of the Chester River.  The historic town of Chestertown is the county seat of Kent County, Md. and was once a thriving port of entry for colonial settlers coming to Maryland and dates back to the 1640's.  Chestertown has many restored 18th century homes, lovely churches, and grand houses on the Chester River built by wealthy merchants as well as many interesting shops.  Chestertown once renowned for it's ship building past has been revived by the Schooner Sultana project.  The Sultana, is a replica of a 18th century schooner and was launched in May of 2001.
