I've been in Real Estate in Wimberley, TX since June,2006! Lucky ME! This is a wonder little village, tucked away among the 'hills' of Texas. Located SW of Austin, a nice 45 minute drive and only 90 minutes from San Antonio!! Wimberley has the best home town feeling of many small towns in the area... AND now that we've finally had some rain this year... beautiful rivers and creeks again!!
There are lots of fun things to do in Wimberley, and lots of little hide-a-ways under the guise of B&B's...however most don't have the Breakfast,just the Bed, but with lots of character! Day trips in all directions! Wine Country!
Wimberely has been know for many years as a retirement and resort community. I've had lots of clients that are 'comin' home' to Wimberley. They recall many fun summers spent here with their families and want to bring their kids or grand kids here to enjoy the slower pace. Once you live here a while, you start livin' "on Wimberley Time" ( a little like Island time, but with a Western theme.)
Our shopping is not for everyone, although everyone could probably find something they like here. It's a lot of small specialty stores, with most of the owners working their 2nd careers. More and More families are moving here to get their children out of the cities... we built an additional elementary school, grades 2-5 with about 150 kids in each class. Our K -2 have their own school, and the Jr. High is 6-8 with High School 9-12. Wimberley ISD has the reputation of being one of the BEST School Districts in Hays County!! We also have a private high school, and a Christian Elementary. We are growing.. had just one stop light 7 years ago and now we have 9!!

I'm just accomplished earning my CRS designation !! I'm glad I went to classes as there is ALWAYS something new and exciting going on in REAL ESTATE! BUSY, BUSY now! Like most places in Texas, we are short on inventory, especially in the lower, $150K to $175 Range and then the mid $250K-$325K range. Almost Anything below $100K in Wimberley is a "Handyman special" or just land.
I work mostly with 'baby-boomers' as that seems to be the folks that I relate to best...since I are one! :) They are similar to first time home buyers, in that most of them haven't bought property for the last 25 years, and things have certainly changed. They appreciate the help and I do it without making them feel bad... after all most of them have had high paying positions in some big companies for many years.
