I have 17 years of experience in the financial industry and have worked as a residential mortgage lender since 2005 in the Portland Metro area. Buying a home is one of life's major events and it's important you choose a lender that is experienced, local, and accessible. I feel doing business "locally" is vital to our communities we live in. I am actively involved with the North Clackamas Chamber of Commerce, Happy Valley Business Alliance, and Cascade Athletic Tennis Club.
At Academy Mortgage we take pride in fast timely closings. We always will keep you updated with the status of the loan process, making for a stress free experience. In-house processing and underwriting enables us to do this and get you on the spot answers to your questions. Founded in 1988, we are the largest private independent mortgage lender. As a direct lender we enjoy being able to control the lending process from beginning to end with no middlemen.
By educating my customers on all their mortgage loan options, I will make sure you are put in the right loan. I take great pride in helping people reach their dreams of home ownership.
I have a B.S. degree in psychology from Oregon State University and also played on the tennis team there. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my two young daughters, playing USTA tennis, and hiking in the gorgeous Pacific NorthWest.
My career in the financial industry started in February 1996 as a temporary employee in the auto collections group for First Interstate Bank. This was my introduction to working non-stop on the phone and first experience with an automatic dialer. That summer Wells Fargo Bank purchased FIB and I continued to work on dialers, but moved over to the credit card collections group. Based on my successful collection percentages, I was moved to pre-chargeoff (5-6 months past due) in collections. In spring of 1997 I had the opportunity to move to the deposit fraud department for about a year. I then took on the role of team lead in the Unclaimed Property division and headed up the due dilligence campaign where I managed a call and letter campaign to reach customers and activate their accounts. In 2000 I took on a new challenge as I worked as a Mortgage Consultant in the Home Equity Retention group for Wells Fargo in a call center handling a large volume of inbound and outbound calls. I needed a new environment after four years in the center and in 2005, I made the huge move to Wells Fargo Home Mortgage where I started my career originating first mortgages as a Home Loan Consultant. I went on to work for Countrywide Home Loans/Bank of America Home Loans for the next five years in the same role, after a two year stint at WFHM. On February 29. 2012 I made an exciting move to a privately held mortgage company Academy Mortgage. Myself and branch manager started up the Clackamas, Oregon office from scratch and we now continue to grow. We have an array of products at our fingertips and also have the ability to broker out loans.
