She is certified by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) as a LEED Accredited Professional. This accreditation verifies her knowledge of green building design, practices, and strategies, and a thorough understanding of the LEED Green Building Rating System, Resources, and Processes set by the USGBC. Lorna's passion for sustainable design is evident in her work. She currently volunteers her free time as an advocate for sustainable design and is leading green efforts within her local community. Lorna accepted membership in the steering committee for the City of Miami 2009 Gateway to Green event and she was also involved with the City of Miami Beach 2009 Green Expo.  As Past Chair of The South Florida Emerging Green Builders, she was directly connected with the voice of our local municipalities, students, young professionals, planners, builders, and architects that will lead and teach future generations of the importance of sustainable building. Lorna serves as part of the U.S Green Building South Florida Chapter Scholarship Committee. Through this scholarship program, talented young professionals are given Financial and other assistance toward earning the prestigious LEED AP credential thereby obtaining a set of skills that is increasingly in demand.

 Lorna believes the green building movement offers us an unprecedented opportunity to respond to the most important challenges of our time, and she is extremely excited to be part of this challenge.
