Before I became a Realtor, I was a writer.  I freelanced for companies doing newsletters, proposals, promotions, and advertising.  I even had a client ask me to write a letter to his girlfriend askiing her not to dance with other men when she was with him.  Believe it or not, that project took me a lot longer than you might expect, but he was thrilled with the results.  Not what I'd envisioned when I started writing, but very gratifying nonetheless.

The experience has been priceless in creating a monthly newsletter for Sellers and Buyers.  Writing also makes me a better communicator which is essential to finding and keeping clients.  The difference between being a writer and being a Realtor is the close relationship you forge with your clients.  Writing can be very solitary, and I found that difficult.  One of my greatest strengths is being a good communicator, and that's held me in good stead in my career.  Clients need to know we're invested in getting their homes sold, and that includes staying in close touch, not just with them, but with other agents, lawyers, mortgage reps, and anyone else involved in the sale.

I am truly blessed to be doing what I love, and to have made so many friends doing it.
