Jim Giuffre has 27 years of experience in the construction business as an electrician in commercial, residential and industrial buildings and has successfully completed the NPI training program and passed the NC and SC Inspector Association tests.  Jim has successfully completed all continuing education classes to date.

Jim is an ASHI Certified Inspector, FHA and 2-10 Warranty Inspector in North Carolina and South Carolina.  He is a member of the American Society of Home Inspectors, North Carolina Home Inspectors Association, Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce, Brunswick County Association of Realtors, Coastal Carolinas Association of Realtors, Better Business Bureau and the South Brunswick Rotary Club.

Trained and Educated: Jim, Tony, and Bob are inspectors that are put through extensive training. Continuing education classes are taken each year. Our inspectors review all Technical Bulletins and each year take 20 CE classes to keep up-to-date on the most recent inspection news. Training covers all necessary technical topics, including:

Plumbing Electrical systems HVAC systems Roofing Insulation Foundations Siding and other exterior components Ventilation Decks  And more................over 300 items are inspected.  We have a premeir inspection report with digital pictures included next to any item marked marginal or defective.

Fully Insured: We carry Errors and Omissions (E&O) and general liability insurance.  Additionally we carry Referral Endorsement coverage. Our inspectors are also Bonded in North Carolina and South Carolina for your piece of mind.

Experienced: Initial training and continued education provided by the corporate office and state, give us opportunities to learn and grow. Our inspectors also attend the NC State CE classes and also ASHI continuing education.  Jim goes way beyond the minimum required for CE each year.  **Jim has 27 years as an electrician before becoming a Certified Inspector.  Bob Chapman is also a NC Licensed General Contractor and a SC Licensed Residential Builder.  Our backgrounds and drive to provide the most thorough inspection in the industry mean we're constantly gaining new knowledge for use on the next inspection.

Jim is trained to perform an unbiased, visual home or commercial property inspection. He assess the home or commercial building from roof to foundation to identify safety issues and describe the current conditions on the property. Jim has 27 years as an electrician in residential, commercial and industrial buildings before becoming a Certified Inspector in NC & SC.  He has also received the destinguished designation of ASHI Certified Inspector after more testing and review of his reports.  Being a FHA inspector is very important to Jim also.  This was a 10 month process to become an FHA inspector. We encourage you to allow time to attend at least the final portion of the inspection. This allows us to walk through the home with you, pointing out findings and explaining elements of the report. The inspection covers hundreds of components in the home and includes a written report clearly outlining safety concerns and the current condition of the home. The report gives buyers the information they need to make the best decision and prepare for future maintenance.  Homeseller's pre-listing inspectionsA general home inspection completed prior to listing or selling the home to give current owners an idea of maintenance items to address. A pre-listing inspection also helps inspire confidence in prospective buyers regarding the condition of the home and reduce time spent in contract negotiation because an unbiased, independent inspector has reviewed all major systems. New construction phase/draw inspectionsThese inspections are completed for home owners or construction lenders during the construction process. NPI inspects the home at various stages in the building process as part of the quality assurance checks or to allow for the release of the next phase of funding. Timing and reports for these inspections are customized to fit the needs of the client. Final walk through inspections on new homesA builder is not always able to be present when their subs on site doing their work on your new home or new commercial building.  This type of inspection will give you piece of mind before closing on your property.  It will give you a full inspection report to give to your contractor to address/fix before closing on your property. Commercial building inspectionsMany times commercial buyers will purchase property unseen. A property inspection helps determine the current condition and potential maintenance or safety issues. NPI can provide formal bidding documents or a one-on-one approach. Our typical commercial inspections are in general accordance with ASTM E 2018 standards. Following the inspection, NPI will provide a written report, complete with photos, documenting all major building systems, components and conditions. New home builder's warranty inspectionsMost brand-new home builders provide homeowners with a 12-month Builder's Warranty. Ordering an inspection before the warranty expires gives the homeowner a professionally-prepared report to go over with the builder addressing possible issues. If repairs are not needed, it provides peace of mind regarding the quality of the new home. Employee relocation home inspectionsTime is generally of the essence when a family is relocated for business purposes. Prior to beginning negotiations for purchase of a home, relocation companies generally order a home inspection to determine the need for repair and maintenance
