A single mom packed her children into her car, left the Lone Star state of Texas to move her family to California back in 1964.   In those days, it was unheard of for a woman, a single woman, to even think of buying Real Estate.  Even so, my Granny bought her first home in Los Angeles County from Coast Homes in 1964 for a mere $10,000- amazing!  Since then, real estate has been in the blood of the women in my family.

The apple didn't fall far from the tree.  In 1973, at the young age of 19, my Mom found the first home my parents purchased together.  My parents are the perfect team; My Dad is a successful commercial contractor/ developer and my Mom is a Real Estate Broker.  My parents bought and sold numerous single family homes and other developed/ undeveloped pieces of land.  I also have a sister who is a real estate agent plus 3 other sisters who work in the construction field along with my brother- the only son.  I know poor guy has 6 older sisters!

In keeping with family tradition, I have already purchased 3 properties.  I bought my first income property at the age of 22 and my first home at 23- all before I even thought about getting my Real Estate License.  After realizing that Real Estate is something I enjoyed and was good at I decided to take the plunge.  I walked into the California state License exam in April of 2001, took the exam and walked out less than 45 minutes later knowing that I had just chosen my career.

My dedication to the real estate industry is deeply rooted.  It is my passion to see people and families realize their "American Dreams" through Real estate investing.  When I think back at my career these two stories stand out in my mind:

Juan & Monica were young newlyweds with visions of their own piece of the "American Dream".  They never thought they would be able to afford their own home because of credit problems.  With my direction and leadership, and their willingness to make changes, we were able to clean up their credit and have them in their very first home in time for the holidays.  Juan & Monica started off as just clients but turned into great friends.

Mr. & Mrs. Denning needed to seller their penthouse condo in order to purchase their new home.  Unfortunately, the lenders appraiser did not appraise the condo at our selling price.  Jeff & Judy had a rare penthouse condo in an area where not much had sold in the past 2 years, even though cities near had appreciated tremendously.  The appraisal of their penthouse condo was $100,000 less than the list price.  I wanted to get top dollar for my clients, so I worked to get the appraisal of their condo as close to, or at, my sellers' list price.  After lots of research and countless telephone calls, I was able to get the appraiser to come up $80,000 from his original appraisal.......

I wasn't in the Real Estate business back in the 1980's when repossessed properties were everywhere.  Since I have had my Real Estate license I have heard numerous conflicting stories about whether or not the 1980's were a good time to be a Real Estate agent.  It is my belief that the agent's who thought it was a bad time to be an agent simply aren't in the business anymore and the agent's who found their niche, grew their business and are thriving.

I'm excited to be a part of today's new real estate market.  I believe it's a great time to be a hardworking, knowledgeable and dedicated agent!  With my experience and wealth of resources around me, I am confident in my ability to be flexible and adjust the ever-changing market.
