Certifications
I am a very proud board member of Tri-Cities Habitat for Humanity.  It is an honor to serve the organization and contribute to their values and goals.  "The goal of Tri-Cities Habitat for Humanity is to eliminate substandard housing and homelessness locally and worldwide and to make affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action."   As a Girl Scout troop leader, I have the privilege to bond with my daughter while guiding a troop of third grade brownies know as Troop 447.  My troop has been very active in the community and has bettered the lives of many. The volunteer work that is close to my heart is my work with a local organization known as SAFE (Saving Animals from Euthanasia).  I am a  former foster parent for the group.  I  accepted homeless dogs from the shelter and caring for them in my home until they found their forever homes.  I nursed them to health if necessary, took them to get spayed or neutered and worked to train them to become good canine companions.  I then took them to adoption events at Petsmart every Saturday where I clean cages, nourish them both physically and emotionally and I help facilitate the adoption process.  My foster work came to an end when we adopted foster puppy number 31, "Sophie".  The picture above is a collection of some of the babies I have saved.  I still work with the organization on fundraising and adoption events. In both 2009 & 2010, I organized and implemented a very successful fundraising yard sale to help my niece follow her one true passion to dance.  I strongly believe in keeping our youth active in the community in order to foster good citizenship.  I encourage them to follow their dreams no matter how big they are. I also stay involved by participating in yearly events to benefit a variety of charities.  I have very proudly been a part supporting the following causes: The Monument Avenue Ukrop’s 10k to benefit Massey Cancer Center Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure A bowl-a-thon to benefit the Children’s Hospital Tri-Cities Habitat for Humanity The Governor’s School Toys For Tots The Big Warm Up The Monument Avenue 10k
