Get to Know Jason Berman

Jason Berman began working in the mortgage industry in 1993. He founded Sierra Funding in 1995 and grew the company into one of the premier mortgage planning practices in Colorado.

In 2004, Jason was elected to the Board of Directors for the Colorado Association of Mortgage Brokers (CAMB). He served as President of the association in 2006 where he successfully led the effort to pass minimum standards for mortgage brokers working in the State of Colorado. The regulation, passed in 2006, required all mortgage brokers within the state of Colorado to obtain federal background checks and become registered to practice origination in the state.

Jason has participated on the BBB Trade Practices Group, Colorado Housing Council, & testified before House & Senate sub-committees on the impact of pending legislation for the mortgage industry.

He has served nationally on NAMB committees and was appointed to participate on the Governor’s Mortgage Broker Education Taskforce to advise the Colorado Division of Real Estate on the implementation of the January 1st, 2009 requirement that all mortgage brokers take 40 hours of pre-licensing education.

Jason is also the lead organizer for REBlogWorld, an annual Blogging & Social Networking conference for Real Estate professionals held in Las Vegas, Nevada. This year the conference took place at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino on October 14-16, 2010.

Jason resides in Frisco, Colorado where he operates one of the first virtual mortgage practices in Colorado.
