cI get asked this every day.
Rates change every day. It is also common for rates to change in the middle of the day. If you call around and ask this question you will find out that we all have pretty much the same interest rate. We all "should" also be pretty close to the same closing costs.
When you call around to get the best rate you are not locking at that moment. So let me ask, what are you really looking for?
I recommend to everyone when shopping around for a mortgage, since we all pretty much have the same rates and programs, look for the best loan officer.
Does the loan officer know his programs inside and out? Do they understand Credit Repair if needed? Do they know what is going on in the economy so they can help you decide when is the best time to lock? Are they available after hours and on weekends?
Those answers are more important to clients then what is the current interest rate.
Full service mortgage broker locally managed and lending in 36 states plus the Virgin Islands. We are much more then just an interest rate!
