Small Businesses Under Pressure to Lower Benefits

Of over 40 small businesses interviewed 77% have had to reduce their level of benefits to their employees. 69% have had to reduce their level of contribution. Companies who used to pay 100% of their employees' benefits are now paying 50%. And this on top of wage cuts in some cases.

In fact, the combined effect of a lagging economy and 20-30% year over year increases in benefits costs is such that 1 out of every 5 businesses surveyed has been forced to drop their benefits altogether. And looming just around the corner as the health care reform begins to come into effect, are minimum coverage requirements that all small businesses will have to abide by.

It is indeed a tough time to be a small business owner.

Does this fit what your business has been going through?

- Have you had to reduce either your level of contribution or benefits to your employees over the last 5 years?

-Does your business use benefits to recruit and retain high quality employees?

-Has your business’s bottom line been under pressure from rising benefits costs?

-Are you concerned about the looming requirements of the Health Care Reform and its accompanying tax penalties and fines for noncompliance?

Strategies to restore level of benefits and comply with healthcare reform outlined

After surveying 40+ companies on their benefits and needs, we have compiled a special report that outlines the problems small businesses face with benefits in 2010 and beyond and our solutions.

In the report:

- We outline 2 strategies exclusive to groups that can reduce coverage costs while maintaining a strong level of benefits. This is especially helpful for those industries where benefits play a key role in recruitment and retention of top performing employees.

- We spell out in plain English the requirements of the healthcare reform on small businesses. We then outline a simple strategy on how to bulletproof your business against tax penalties and fines when the new requirements fall into place over the next 3 years.
