Real Estate Is My Lifestyle, Not My Job. I started using that as my tag line six years ago, shortly after I entered the business. I hung my license in a real estate franchise type office and they began teaching me the company line. They gave me a cubicle with a phone, handed me some scripts and told me to start dialing. "Not my style" I said. In my mind it really didn't make sense. The new breed of buyers and seller were all about the Internet. Everywhere you looked somebody was trying to send you to one website or another. Even TV commercials that had blinking phone numbers and loud mouth hucksters were screaming at you to go to www.this or www.that. I was well aware of REALTOR.COM even before I was licensed. About two years ago I left that company for Charles Rutenberg Realty of Illinois, a company that believes that I, as an agent that knows how to do business, don't NEED the company line to be a success. In fact there is no company line. They encourage me to be who I am and work the way I am comfortable working. That in turn makes my clients more comfortable as well.

I am a member of the Real Estate Cyberspace Society (RECS) and I hold the e-PRO® designation. You can find me in cyberspace in various locations. I have homes on the Internet here and there and I blog when I can. In fact the blog is the best place to find out who I am.

As far as my areas of expertise go, I have pretty much done it all. The bulk of my business is existing residential resales but I am not limited to just that. My very first clients ever, were first time home buyers who started out looking at detached single family homes and ended up buying a huge (2300 sq. ft.) condo across from a park. One of my clients has parlayed $350,000 into $1,200,000 over the last few of years through crafty purchasing using the 1031 exchange. I have successfully sold everything from vacant, build-able, acreage to income producing rental properties. When a friend of mine decided to move to Florida, he turned to me to sell his triple wide mobile home in an RV resort on the Illinois River. On two occasions I have gotten FSBO sellers more money than they ever thought possible, certainly more than they were asking themselves, by listing and marketing their properties to rehabbers, investors and developers as value in the land and value in location properties. I was also able to find these two clients bigger, newer homes and, they had money left over. I guess you could say my one area of expertise is getting my clients, buyers or sellers, the best possible deal for them.

As the tag line on my websites say: "Real Estate Is My Lifestyle, Not My Job". I understand that the real estate business is ever changing, and I embrace the changes.
