George K. Beardsley is a writer, teacher and real estate investor. He has been investing in residential real estate in the Tampa Bay area for the last two decades.
He has been a disc jockey, announcer and engineer at radio stations, a reporter for a major metropolitan newspaper, an army officer, a stock and commodity broker and business owner. Now out of the securities industry for two decades, he works to resolve customer complaints by chairing arbitration panels for investors who have disputes with their stock brokers under the auspices of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
He has written two Mini Books on the use of options in securities markets and was an editor for the book publishing firm of Dow Jones Irwin and has contributed articles for securities and commodity industry magazines.
He holds a Florida Real Estate Broker's License and is the broker of Advanced Realty Team, Inc., Dunedin, Fl. He has just finished writing the book “911forLandlords” with the information he discovered during a two-year scientific search to discover ways to rent houses faster for more money in the current market. He was graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor’s of Journalism degree and a Master of Arts. He was selected for membership in the Frank Mott chapter of Kappa Tau Alpha, journalism honorary fraternity. After finishing the class work for the master’s degree, Beardsley joined the Chicago Tribune and was a financial writer covering banking, finance, foreign exchange and commodities and wrote a weekly column on commodity futures. He subsequently joined Merrill Lynch as a commodity broker and then worked for other brokerage firms before founding his own firm in Florida, Advanced Investment Management.
Between receiving the bachelor’s degree in journalism and attending graduate school, he served in the United States Army, as Public Information Officer of the Third Armored Division in Frankfurt, Germany and subsequently as a combat intelligence officer in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.
During college he was a radio announcer and engineer at several radio stations. He earned a First Class Commercial Radio license from the Federal Communications Commission at the age of 19, which allowed him to be an engineer at a radio or television station. He currently holds the highest class of Amateur Radio License and has confirmed two way communications with 180 countries and holds the DXCC award for contacts with more than 100 countries.
For the last two decades he has been a writer, teacher and real estate investor, buying, fixing and renting houses in west Florida. He developed a specialized method of lease optioning real property, called Famous Rent to Own on Steroids Program™ for which he holds the United States Trade Mark.
