My husband Jim and I live in Independence, Minnesota and share over 30 years of experience in the real estate industry. We are a full-service team in every way....meaning we work full-time, have access to all the powerful branding and services that come from our company, Coldwell Banker Burnet, and with our assistant, Dana, stand ready to help you with all your real estate needs. Jim is a Broker and GRI, who owned the Coldwell Banker franchise in Faribault Mn for many years. Over his years in the business, Jim has provided hundreds of families with Contract for Deed Financing, and still does - a tremendous help for some who cannot quite qualify for a conventional mortgage. He has owed multiple rental properties and built new construction as well. We partnered up in life and work in 2004 and now work out of the CBB Wayzata office. Our particular office is known for its effective networking and enjoys the greatest share of the market for properties over $500,000 in the Lake Minnetonka area.
Personally, I am a GRI, ePro, ABR, RCC, CNHS, CRS and Certified Home Stager. What do all these designations mean? A GRI is a graduate of the Graduate Realtor Institute and is a more in-depth exploration of the requirements for licensing. an ePro is a course that provides expertise in use of the internet and technology in business. An ABR is an Accredited Buyer's Representative, which provides cutting edge tools for assisting buyers. An RCC is Residential Construction Cerification, which is course work in basic construction prinicipals, techniques and products. CNHS is a certification in sales of new construction, which helps me understand working with builders and understanding their perspective on working with the real estate community, in addition to being able to protect the interests of my buyers when dealing with builders. CRS, is a Certified Residential Specialist, and of all the designations this is the only one that is professional rather then educational, as it requires time and experience in the profession prior to qualifying for it. In addition, it entails a curriculum that can take years to complete. It is the highest level of certification achievable in real estate and is held by less than 4% of all Realtors in the United States. Prior to becoming a Realtor, I owned a company called Home Again Restoration, that bought and rehabbed old (really "distressed") properties in Minneapolis and St. Paul. That experience, combined with being a landlord, an equestrian and a mother of 4 grown children, makes me a multi-faceted realtor! In addition, I am a licensed Realtor in Wisconsin as well as Minnesota.
Jim and I enjoy working together as a husband and wife team and feel that it affords us a unique opportunity to more completely meet the needs of our clients.
Since we are a bit "older" (ahem) we possess quite a variety of skills and experiences that apply to our work. Jim has owned/rented/sold virtually hundreds of rental units in his career, has worked with agents, both as a mentor, employer and associate in all the varieties of situations you can imagine. He is known as well for his expertise in providing special financing for those who are unable to get conventional loans....as a team we provide this for those who qualify through our interview process. We work with investors, high end properties (in particular horse properties), multi-family and first time buyers.....we do it all!
