I suppose it all started when I was a little kid. Hardy Boys novels and spy stories. There was always secret passages. As a kid I was obsessed with finding them. I’d looks at nooks and crannies, architectural details of all kinds. I started wanting to create these unique spaces for myself. As a young child, I was a Lego fanatic. As I got older I started building with wood instead of Legos. Later this turned into an all-out obsession with tree-houses. I loved making new worlds, new spaces, new perspectives.

As an adult, this gave me a certain love for older homes. I loved foyers. Mudrooms. Basements, workshops and spires. Yards, gardens, and rooms over garages. Any time I saw a cool deck or an attic reading room, I couldn’t help but remark. Everyone told me: “Get into Real Estate”.

I started by owning my own home. My first home wans’t perfect, but it was a starter; a 60s rambler with a garden level walkout. It had coved ceilings and an awful kitchen. Over the course of a couple of years I remodeled the basement, added a bathroom, redid the yard, and dealt with dozens of little projects and minor renovations. It wasn’t perfect, but it was mine, and from that point on, there was no other choice for me but to own a home. I sold this place, and moved on to what I really wanted… a Victorian. Those elegant, trendy homes where you are playing the constant game of trying to keep them in good repair, while you try to fit your furniture into all the tiny little rooms. Sounds crazy, but I love them. It takes a special sort of love to want a Victorian. A real sense that a home is yours, for better or worse, and a deep desire to dig in there with your own sweat and pocketbook to make it work. A desire to own something and leave it a little better off than you found it.

Of course, this isn’t for everyone, but with each buyer, I work to understand exactly how to find your own forever home. Whether is price, location, amenities, school district or some combination of the above that gets you excited about a place, we can work together to find the perfect home for you.

If you are selling, I understand what buyers look for. How they will see your home, and how to take the time to get you top dollar for your investment. Call me. Lets do coffee and talk interest rates, neighborhoods, and all about the buying process. No strings attached.
