Get to Know Conrad P. Koch Jr.

Nineteen Hundred and Fifty Five ... a short fifty four years ago ...  my family made Cocoa, Florida, their home. My sister and I atteneded and graduated from Cocoa High School.  I worked for Greyhoud Van Line on Oleander Street the summer following my graduation from Cocoa High.  Later that summer I landed a job with RCA out t the Tech Lab and became a Data Reduction Mathematician.  Recognition of the fact that one can not move on in life without a college degree,  I quit a well paying position with RCA and crammed a five year Electricl Engineering degree into two and two thirds years ... the equivalent of 8 semesters under U of F's "tri-mester" scheduling system.

Following college, for thirty-nine years, I did all that I could do to help out military troops do their job better. My two years in Thailand were most gratifying as it was there I helped to keep the bad guys from shooting down our jets by making sure our electronic countermeasures were working at 100% effectiveness.  As an Electrical Engineer, my education served me well as I helped to modernize the military equipment used by our troops.  At General Electric in Utica, I sold programs that  promised to revolutionize airborned radar systems.  In Dayton Ohio, as GE's Science and Technology guru, I helped make smalleryet better electric motors by helping to create small, powerful, Samarium Cobalt magnets.  I later worked with the team at Bell Aerospace in Buffalo, NY, that designed and produced the Automatic Carrier Landing System.  ACLS, as it is called,  was used extensively to land Naval aircraft on the decks of heaving, pitching, rolling, moving aircraft carriers.  The remarkable thing about the system lies in the fact that its job automatically ... no pilot intervention.

We moved to Nashua New Hampshire in 1991 Then I went to Greenlawn NY in 1994 and  joined a great company, Hazeltine Corporation.  There I was responsible for plannig and marketing a host of advanced development programs aimed at applying some of the most brilliant ideas that one could conceive within the realm of science and technology. Through a series of several consolidations, the company became part of what is now BAE Systems.

I retired in 2005  from BAE Systems to come back to Cocoa Beach.  Throughout the years, my passion had been  to create value, utility and beauty using my own mind and my own hands to do so.  Homeuilding was my path to exercise that passion.  My company, SyZyGy International LLC, was formed to develop "WATERFRONT LUXURY" out of what were dated homes of the 60s. The plan was to purchase undervalued and depressed properties fronting (or more accurately "backing")  onto any one of the many waterways we enjoy in Central Brevard. Babyboomers from the Northeat were my target buyers. Transforming those properties into the 21st century Luxury Waterfront Residences was my path toward making millions ...  or so it seemed.

After completing my first project at 1741 Bay Shore Drive, the economy tanked. In July 2008, I secured my Real Estate license.  I asked myself, how can I differentiate my business? How can I apply my talents and make a difference? The answer was pretty darned obvious.  For the 54 years I had known the area the economic viability of Cocoa Beach and Brevard County in general has always seen its "ups and downs".  I, therefore, focused my new found career on doing my small part to see if we could create a groundswell of vocal, and active "passion" amongst the citizenry of Cocoa Beach (and Central Brevard).  By focusing that passion on improving the area we can make Cocoa Baach area the "Slice of Heaven" that it deserves to be ... that it can be ... that the great citizens of the area want it to be.  From a Realtor's perspective, I would stand to gain a more lucrative business if our economy were more stable and therefore more attractive to buyers.  That is, in part, why I am taking the time to share with you, the reader, my ideas and profile information.  "Vocal and Active"  ...that is  the operating phrase.  Speak out!  Whether you are a citizen, a visitor, a business owner, or maybe one who just has a thought, please make yourself heard.

I'd like to see the economy of Cocoa Beach become less dependent upon the "rocket business". Cocoa Beach is a fairly well hidden "Slice of Heaven" that can easily become "The Place" to be. Let's hear
