Real estate has been a mid-life career change for me. I moved to Asheville three years ago after spending the past 15 years working as an engineer for the State of Florida. I've found my engineering skills, such as problem solving, attention to detail, and planning to be a great asset in real estate.
Recently I've taken courses on 1031 tax deferred exchanges for investors, and foreclosures and short sales. I think it's important for a professional to thoroughly understand any aspect of the business that may arise.
