I have lived in the Conejo Valley, specifically Newbury Park, for over 30 years. I'm married to my husband of 21 years who also grew up in Newbury Park and has been here for over 35 years. We have two sons who attended the schools we did and even had some of the same teachers we did! I love life and people and it shows on how I spend my time. I am active in the community having volunteered my time to the Special Olympics, the Women's Crisis Pregnancy Center, the PTA, the Junior Women's Club, Mothers of Preschoolers, Meals on Wheels, Manna and our church. I participate in many leagues and classes the community has to offer including the CRPD Tennis League, belly dancing and studying neuroscience and psychology at the local college. My hobbies include snow skiing, hiking, biking, gardening, cooking/baking, music, reading and traveling. I'm also learning how to surf, when time allows. Above all these things that I do, my most treasured thing I get to do is spend time with my family! I am very fortunate to have my extended family nearby. My two brothers and Mom are living in Newbury Park also. We love to have family dinners and we often meet on the football field on Friday nights to watch my older brother coach our alma mater Panthers!
I am passionate about selling my community and the Ventura County lifestyle. I believe we live in the most beautiful areas in our country. We have the beach, the mountains, the valley and the desert all in a 2 hour drive. Where else can you live where you can surf and ski all in the same day?! And the weather!!!...it is mild and for the most part sunny and warm throughout the year. Apart from the fabulous weather and location, the biggest asset I believe this area has to offer are the people who live here. Friendly, family-oriented people who truly care about one another live here.
My work experience began at an early age when I started working the very minute I was able to get my worker's permit! In my younger years I did sales in a chocolate shop, a yogurt shop, a long distance telephone company where I did telemarketing and sales. After I got married, I worked as a waitress while going to school, started my own business and worked for Disney before getting pregnant with my first child. At that point I decided to stay at home with my children so I could raise them. I kept busy while raising them, getting involved in MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) where I held the coordinator, asst. coordinator and leader positions. As my kids grew, became more independent and were involved in school and extra curricular activities, I decided to start another business called Personalized Parties. Nine years ago I decided I wanted to get back into the sales arena and start selling again...what I was trained to do from the beginning and what is in my blood (my Mom and 2 brothers are in sales). Because I was so involved in my community and its people, and I absolutely was passionate about the lifestyle here in Ventura County, I decided to go back to school and get my real estate license.
I started my real estate career with the Weiland Team at Aviara. There I was trained by the very best in the business. I was a knowledge-hungry agent, wanting to learn all there was about the real estate business. I took numerous classes, webinars and attended sales training I could get my hands on. I learned many client-service and sales-service systems including By Referral Only, Buffini and Ferry. I received my E-pro and HAFA designation. I was on fire and loved the business! In the first 5 years of my career I was voted Realtor of the Year at Aviara and was voted to become a shareholder/owner of the company. I also became a Redfin Partner Agent, partnering up with Redfin, one of the largest and leading real estate search engines and real estate information sites out there. I was/am responsible for delivering "over-the-top" customer service to our clients while educating them in the market and helping them meet their real estate goals. Redfin's training and business model has been instrumental in helping me to grow my business. I currently work at Keller Williams Westlake and made the move there due to the vast technological advances they have made in their brokerage and that are available to their agents and clients.
I continue to educate myself and gain the knowledge of the business so that I can best represent my clients. I utilize the technology of today by using Google+, Active Rain, Facebook, Pinterest, Linked In, RoostQwanz, AskLocal, Twitter, Instagram and Tublr to educate myself, my clients and to promote my listings.
My relationships with my clients are of up most importance to me. I know that a good relationship requires excellent interpersonal and communications skills. I take the time to get to know my clients on a personal level, learning about their decision making style, how they communicate, their personality style and what is truly important to them. I find this is the best way to find out what their real estate needs are and how I can best help them. My goal is to establish a relationship that will last beyond the sale, and most often any my clients become my new friends.
