Get to Know Chris Ward

I started at Great Western Bank a portfolio lender in the spring of '94. This was the best place in the business to start for training and experience. I worked directly with underwriters, that had15+ years in their field. As well as being underwriters, they were also sales managers. This put them in an awkward position of being responsible for the underwriting of loans as well as production. Having the responsibility of sales volume made them interested in teaching me the art of "creative packaging".

I moved from there to Qpoint Mortgage in June of '96. The mortgage programs and lenders had begun to diversify much more. The Qpoint brokerage model provided me access to the whole market. While providing a good technology support system, Qpoint also delivered, through franchises, a large volume of loans to the wholesale lending industry. I realized the importance of this as we received excellent service from the wholesale market that we in turn could pass on to our clients. When our franchise grew and fulfilled its contract term with Qpoint, we developed our own name of HomeStar Lending. This allowed us to differentiate ourselves from other franchises in our area. Our heighten level of service then became more apparent in our market area.

In July of '94 I followed the leadership of our new company Mortgage Advisory Group. I and many of my colleagues brought a wealth of experience, knowledge, and expertise to develop Mortgage Advisory Group into a mortgage company whose service and professionalism is unmatched.
