Since 1993 I has been involved in the Real Estate industry as a licensed Broker and also specifically dealing with how to market real estate online.
I started my career as a Realtor, where I quickly became one of the top producers in the company and then added the additional titles of Vice President and Principal Broker for a local franchise. I started marketing & selling real estate during the early stages of computer adoption in the industry - when I arrived with my laptop computer in 1994, and then soon after launched my personal Web site, I think everyone thought I had completely lost my mind!
The results of my aggressive online campaign in those early years convinced me that the Internet was going to be a critical tool in the future of real estate advertising. So six years later when I had an opportunity to work for an Internet start-up in the real estate space, I jumped at the chance and my career at Bamboo.com began. It was an exciting and dynamic company that offered one of the very first virtual tours for real estate. We taught Realtors how to not only utilize the virtual tours to market their properties, but how to harness the power of an emerging media to better brand themselves and market their listings.
After several years (and the dot com bust) I knew that I wanted to get back in the real estate sales game so I went to work for a team that consistently sells 60-plus million dollars of real estate a year. That was a frenetic experience! After five crazy years of selling more houses that I thought possible, I am happily back in the online world.
From 2007 - 2013 I was the Director of Strategic Partnerships for Homefinder.com; in this role I was responsible for establishing and growing relationships with top brokerages, national franchises, and MLS's.
Currently I am the Director of MLS & Industry Relations for Zillow. I am responsible for building relationships and establishing direct agreements with MLS partners across the US. I am also a licensed real estate broker.
