web Observations From A Different Point Of View |
I love my mid-life career choice. I only wish I had made the jump years ago. But then I would not be bringing the life experiences I have had to my career.
Prior to entering Real Estate I worked in underwriting, employee benefits, banking. After many years of cubicle life I had the realization that one more year would drive me up my padded cubicle walls. I am grateful everyday for the opportunity I have to work in such a dynamic field. Most of the agents I encounter are true professionals and I learn something every time I meet with them.
My first (and so far only) designation is as a Certified Buyer's Representative. I really enjoy working with buyers. I take the time to learn what my buyers wants and needs are and I spend the rest of my time learning about the various communities in the very large county I live in and neighboring Georgetown County.
Recently I've jumped into the world of listings. I am finding it to be a whole new ball game. For good or for bad, in this market you have to play in both games. I hope ot use my blog to keep you updated.
Until recently I worked only with buyers. I did not have to worry about listings and getting them sold. I could take my time with buyers. Some will not be ready to make their purchase until two years or more down the road. By the time they arrive in Myrtle Beach I have developed a relationship with them. They know I'm only interested in helping them find the perfect 2nd home or retirement home.
Sellers are a whole new ballgame. You have to jump in with both feet hitting the ground. There is no waiting around, getting to know them, their kids and dogs. You need to make that impression fast because they have 4 more Realtors lined up to meet with.
I'm a Realtor working in the Coastal South Carolina market. We have everything from small efficiencies to grand homes on the ocean. I love the area and all we have to offer.
