Get to Know Danya Gresham

I moved to Las Vegas about twenty years ago...I remember because it was when I just graduated high school and I'm getting ready to go to my twenty year reunion - ugh! The town I moved to then ended at Charleston and Rainbow...you were definitely out in the boonies if you had to head that way.  Now, you can go all the way out to the Mt. Charleston turn-off and you're definitely still "in town".

I've been in Real Estate for just over three years now - having been on all sides; from an agent to a Relocation Director.  I've seen the transaction from every angle, and have seen a lot of strange things that I've just filed away in case I ever need to know it.

I have two kids that are sadly outnumbered by my St. Bernards.  I enjoy reading and camping, which thankfully go really well together...and the kids and the dogs can do together.  My daughter is 18 and has Cerebral Palsy so I understand some of the special needs that parent's who have challenged children have when looking for a new home or selling the one they're in right now.  My son is twelve, and I'm not going to lie...I don't think anyone understands twelve year olds, but knowing that is half the battle!

My husband is from Morelia, Michochan so I have had to, by default, learn Spanish.  I'm fairly okay at it...good enough to be understood by patient Spanish speakers and be able to enjoy an occasional Spanish game show.

Originally, I was with In-n-Out Burger for about thirteen years.  I was a regular associate, then went into management, then worked as a Divisional Trainer for them, and then back into management.  That is where I learned about Customer Service and how to treat the people that help you be able to take care of your family.  I understand that without customers, it really doesn't matter how great you are at something...the customer is the only one who is going to buy what you're selling, so you better treat them right!

I know how I like to be treated!  Phone calls returned (even when the news isn't what I was hoping for), emails answered. If I've been working with someone for a while, I like to be treated like I know them and not like someone they just met.  If I'm purchasing something that is going to pay that person enough to pay their mortgage, I'd like a thank you and maybe, if they're real good, I'd like them to be interested in me as a person and my family.  I definitely don't want to feel like they're looking at me like I'm a walking paycheck and I for sure don't want them to forget about me just because we've finished the transaction and they don't need me to sign anything anymore.

And that, if I do my job correctly, is how my customers will feel after we've found them a new home...or have sold their current home.
