I came into real estate in April of 2007. I had been working in the new construction field as an office manager for a local, family-run company that has been in business for nearly 20 years. As their OM, I answered phones, created cost breakdowns, scheduled inspections, and did some of the accounting tasks that a business like that requires. I also have over 10 years of experience in the Direct Sales market, and have found that all the skills that I learned in that endeavor has only enhanced my experience in real estate. I feel that our current market conditions have actually helped me in my business. Since I have never been a part of a "good" market, I have had to work extra hard to learn the right things to do. I am pleased with my production so far (though I am always aspiring to do better) and am encouraged & excited about my potential when the market turns around again. I work my professional business full time and consider it my career. I'm constantly going to trainings to further my knowledge and capabilities, and then putting what I learned into action, as opposed to taking in knowledge and then continuing to do things that haven't worked in the past. I am known in my brokerage as one who "thinks outside the box" and will take a new idea & "run" with it.
