At meetings and in numerous seminars, he is often the trusted source for a non sugar coated view of the Phoenix Real Estate market.

Brett has the kind of know how which comes from 16+ years selling Real Estate full time. Brett has sold more then 700 houses since he started his career as a Realtor in 1991, and he has deftly handled all the niggling little details and issues that came up with each deal to guide it towards a succesful closing. Brett's strength is in the intelligent way he counsels both sellers and buyers to create a positive outcome through savvy advice and smart negotiations.

Brett is often sought out by the local media as one of the area's Real Estate experts. His opinions on the market's directions have typically been right on the money. "One writer at the Arizona Republic calls me his 'canary in the coal mine,' and this particular writer has called me weekly for years to help him understand the Phoenix Real Estate market," says Brett.

The result is that Brett Barry has been directly quoted more than 50 times in the local papers over the years (Google Brett's name along with the word 'Realtor' and see for yourself).

Brett was also the featured Realtor in the February 2007 issue of Fortune Magazine for their cover story about Zillow.com, and a senior editor from Fortune spent an entire day with Brett viewing homes. Brett was also interviewed nationally (May, 2007) on the MSNBC TV show "Your Business" for insights into his sales expertise. Brett has appeared over the years on Channel 15 and Channel 3 in Phoenix with stories involving some of  his Real Estate clients. Brett accurately predicted the coming boom of the 2004-2005 Real Estate boom in the Arizona Republic, and he also correctly advised his clients when the market in Phoenix peaked in October of 2005, even though many of his fellow Realtors disagreed at that time.  

That type of savvy advice has earned Brett the genuine respect and admiration of many of his customers and colleagues in Phoenix. 

Brett's outgoing personality, enthusiasm and work ethic come from a long line of show biz relatives. Grandfather Dave Barry was the comedian and opening act for singer Wayne Newton in Las Vegas for more than 20 years. Brett's grandfather also appeared as the character Bienstock in the Marilyn Monroe classic "Some Like It Hot," and was a long time member of the Friars Club since the 1950's.

Brett's brother Jason Barry is currently a TV reporter and weekend anchor at KPHO  5 in Phoenix, well known for his "Dirty Dining" reports of local restaurants.  "There's nobody shy in my family, that's just a fact" says Brett with a laugh.   

Brett started as a Realtor in Seattle, WA way back in 1991, starting in new construction and then moving two years later into re-sale homes. Brett was mentored by the manager of his office in Seattle, and Brett has always felt that that mentoring laid the foundation for his future career and success.

Brett and his wife Lise moved to Phoenix at the end of 1996 to chase the sunshine ("I couldn't handle all the rainy days dressed to the hilt in a suit and tie!"). Brett and Lise also wanted to start a family, and the lifestyle Arizona offered was just the ticket they were looking for. They have two daughters (Lindis & Tira), and the family loves to travel (especially to Norway).

Brett joined Realty Executives, the #1 Real Estate company in Phoenix in March of 1997. "It was an easy decision when I chose Realty Executives. They had the best reputation of any company out there, they are ranked #1 in the state, and they were a family run buisness which is something I could relate to."

Brett is a strong believer in technology and creativity, and was one of the first agents to utilize "virtual home tours" at their infancy in 1997. Brett has used gorgeous full color brochures in all his home listings since 1993, and Brett still believes that a home must be "merchandised" just as a product would be at a fine retail store.

Brett is a multiple recipient of some of the top awards at the company, including the Diamond Award putting him in the top 2% of the entire company. Brett is also sought after as a speaker on panel discussions for agents locally, as well as at the Realty Executives National Convention. Brett also attends the yearly Realty Executives "Summit" meeting each year, a brainstorming session for the 50 of the top agents in the US and Canada. The sessions allow Brett to network with some of the top Realtors in the world, which can be invaluable in selling his homes.

As the Real Estate market has become more complex, Brett consistently takes advanced educational courses to stay on top of the cutting edge of knowledge. Brett holds an Associate Broker's license, CRS designation (top 3% of Realtors nationwide), GRI, and the ABR. "It may all sound like alphabet soup, but there is always something new and valuable to learn as the markets keep changing," says Brett.

In 2005 Brett achieved his dream of opening his own Real Estate office in Tatum Ranch, an area that he has specialized in since 1997. The high-tech boutique office is decked out with flat screen monitors, suede paint, and a cutting edge conference room outfiited with frosted glass and a stainless steel restaurant door. The office also attracts many passers by looking to buy or sell a home.
