Get to Know Dianne Matthews

G'Day.  I'm your Realtor from Down Under.  In a former life, I was both a missionary and later started an online business.  In the latter company, I was also in charge of marketing which has truly been of tremendous value in the real estate industry.   I  knew those experiences, combined with my computer skills, my background in sales and a love of truly helping and nurturing people would serve me well.  After all, this is a relational business.

As a missionary I travelled the world and lived and interacted with people from many ethnic backgrounds.  I learned to appreciate and identify with their cultures, food and language.  And I've found that real estate is the perfect venue for working with people who are new settlers to the U.S. and identifying with the puzzle that real estate transactions pose for them.

And it's my pleasure to walk my Buyers and Sellers through the maze that real estate presents and educate them in the process so that no-one can take advantage of them, no matter what background they're from.

Let me tell you how I do business:

Since my desire is to do an outstanding job with every single Buyer and Seller, my work begins before I even meet you.  I make certain that I keep up-to-date with real estate trends, changes and information by constantly taking Continuing Education classes.  These bring me up-to-date with all that is happening in the real estate and lending industries so that you (my clients) will never be surprised!

Then, when we meet, from that moment on, you become my Number 1 client in focus from my angle and experience from yours.  Of couse, I will be working with other clients, but you will never be aware of it unless you pass each other in the hallway in my office, as has happened.  After we find the perfect new home for you, (after we've viewed not just one or two homes, but sometimes many), my ongoing and real work begins in the background.  Keeping track of timelines is crucial as are my daily telephone calls to keep you up-to-date as to where we are in the transaction process.  My research, before we even make an offer, for potential difficulties ahead will make the process so much easier.  If you are a Buyer or Seller, you will be made aware of it, but you will also know I am on top of it.  And I have the solution.  Chances are of course, I'll have seen it before!  This is all on the back-end.  What comfort and security in a process that can be stressful at the best of times!  It's all in the Realtor you choose.

And I'm always accessible by cell phone.  If I cannot answer your call immediately, I will call back as soon as is humanly possible.

After Closing, more of my desire to make this an outstanding process comes into play.  How about moving day.  Talk about stress.  No worries, mate.  I have my Pizza Guy deliver the evening meal - Pepperoni pizza and sodas.  How about that after a hard move!  Are my clients seniors who need someone to mow their new lawn?  No worries, mate.  I'm onto it and have someone lined up.  Did the former owners leave the home dirty and in need of a good thorough clean.  Again, no worries, mate.  My cleaning lady will come in and whip it into shape so that you move into a sparkling clean house.

I've also been known to help a single client with her very difficult move - help her pack and physically move her stuff.   On another occasion, I cleaned the new house myself for another single lady client after the former owners moved out and left it a mess, and knowing that I would hate to have to start cleaning my new house before I move in (it's bad enough after I'm there!).  :)   By the way, I don't always do this - I do have a cleaner but she wasn't available and the move was happening whether or not the house was clean.  I guess "do unto others as I'd have them do unto me" summarizes my outlook as I interact with my clients and my outlook on life in general.  It's what I do.  These are people whom I grow to love and care about, people who greatly affect my life and whom, I hope, I can make a little difference in their lives as well.

I love to keep in touch with my former clients.  I can drop in on them, I go to lunch with them, have coffee with them, have one of them cut my hair and in turn, they reach out to me e.g. when my father died 2 years ago.  My clients have become my friends.  I love to solve a problem or make a hard and emotional move, easier.  I love it when they ask for my advice about new family members moving into the area and "do I know a good school", and "of course, we need to meet with you to have you help us find a home for them".  I enjoy being a source of information and help and going the extra mile and then some for them.

I believe that when you see real estate not as a "number's game", but as a series of relationships, the rewards are great and you can sincerely love what you do.

I personally cannot think of a more exciting or personally satisfying profession to be in than assisting clients purchase their first home, or even their 2nd or 3rd.  My satisfaction comes from aiming to do an outstanding job for my clients, first time, every time.

I am working towards the time when the majority of my business is by referral and that's just the way I want it to be. I admit, I like to be appreciated but I also get great joy in making my clients happy and giving to them.  They are always WOW'ed by the closing gifts and the other ways that I get to thank them.   It's such a win-win business to be in an I would count it a privilege to assist you as you Buy or Sell a home.   And I'm never too busy for any of your referrals.

In the meantime, call for my Special Report "Getting Started With the Home Buying Process".  It is full of good information that will set you on the right path towards becoming a Home Owner for the first time, or to enable you in your search for the perfect new home.

My specialty is quickly becoming seniors, those who are about to retire or are retired.  "While the prospect of retirement is an exciting time for most seniors, many have not planned for the economic issues that arise as a result," said Dr. Nathan Booth.  "For seniors choosing to remain in the workforce, or even retire early, help is needed in finding the best and most prudent use of the resources available to them in real estate."

That's where I come in.  My expertise, my knowledge and my experience in working with folks of a similar age to me will be of huge benefit to any Buyers wanting to downsize or relocate.  My website www.OnlyRamblers.com currently Under Construction will be of great help.  From there, it is possible to access the MLS for any rambler/ranch homes that a potential Buyer might want.

There are specific needs that seniors have both financially and in terms of their ongoing housing options.  And there are questions that they should be asking themselves?  Is a reverse mortgage right for me?  And "what is a Reverse Mortgage" anyway.  What are the options in terms of a rambler that has the square footage that the Buyer wants but doesn't have unnecesssary steps in the home (such as a daylight basement).

My market area includes the towns of:

Arlington, Marysville, Granite Falls, Lake Stevens, Snohomish, Bothell, Mill Creek, Lynnwood, Everett, Stanwood, Camano Island, La Conner, Anacortes, Oak Harbor, Mount Vernon, Burlington, Sedro Woolley, Concrete and Darrington.
