Get to Know Judi Glamb

Born and raised in Michigan, I officially moved east to Bucks County Pennsylvania in 1989, where I will never be considered a local just because of birthright, but at least I still feel welcomed!  I started off at Michigan State in Social Work, got smart and transferred to the University of Michigan-Dearborn where I majored in Computer and Information Science.  Spent the first 10 years of my "offical" career working for Unisys on some very interesting projects that took me all over the US and to Europe.  The next 10 years, still with Unisys, I decided to focus on my personal life - got married to Larry and a few years later gave birth to Sabrina, our now middle school daughter.  Even though I had an ideal situation of telecommuting when Sabrina was little, I wasn't happy with the work nor was I living up to my performance expectations so I made the transition to Real Estate.

I'm not a born salesperson, which made me a bit nervous (to be honest still does a bit) but I like houses and working with people so I thought I'd give it a try.  I figured it would also allow me to meet my second goal in getting to know the community I l lived in.  Between my 2 hour one-way commute and then just being enclosed in my house, I didn't even know my neigbhors.

So my new venture started off in 1999 and I have had some good ups and of course some downs.  I kept my education up and made enough transactions to become an associate broker.  I think the education was valuable although I did put my initial dream of owning my own brokerage aside (much to my husband's dismay).  I have thought about management and even tried in my last office, but the more I get into this area, the more I see the light.  Us agents can be PIA!

I found that I really like the marketing and advertising aspects of this business.   So much that I am doing this work for other agents and am trying to devise a business plan where I can migrate into this full time.  I don't have the dreams of becoming a real estate tycoon but just be make a living for my family.  I am also probably part of the minority of liking the paperwork (processing it not necissarily explaining all this great stuff to the clients - would be so bad if it wasn't so long!)   It's almost looking like I might be my former coachee's personal assistant (I predicted this!).

Real Estate is definitely an interesting road to travel...

Certifications

I am well versed in the real estate process.  I have by Associate Broker's license and am also an Accredited Buyers Representative.  I've been active in coaching real estate as well as practicing it.

I tend to focus on areas as opposed to specific specialized types of real estate.  I have done mostly rural single family homes but have dabbled in lots and condos and even an equestrian property or two.
