The primary advantage to this service is that you do not need to have existing phone service on your phone to use this. Your phone can take advantage of WiFi WITHOUT having service. This means that you can just buy the phone you want and never have to sign a contract. Of course, this limits your range. You can't receive calls when you are away from WiFi so you can mostly take calls at home, at the office, in places that have free wifi such as Starbucks and in techno savvy inner cities that have free WiFi in the entire downtown area - such as Macon, GA for those of you in Central Georgia.
