The i-phone is a must-have for Realtors these days. With it I can access the entire internet, schedule appointments, check the MLS, check in with my Trulia and Zillow apps, take photos of listings, and come up with numbers using online mortgage applications.

In addition it's great for proving my sister wrong, playing words-with-friends and lots of other battery-draining activities.

So you are saying so what, big deal, old news, but what you have to understand is I am totally analog. I am so far from an early adopter that I am in a different decade. My husband has been trying to get me to use an I-Phone since they first came out and I just REFUSED, with all caps. It was just a fad, it didn't have anything I needed, I only used a cell phone for emergencies (like what to pick up at the grocery store). In short, it was a stupid waste of money. Boy have I changed my tune now that I have one. Texting has become my new best friend, getting info to another agent about showing instructions for a home, or that I have an offer coming from a client is a snap. No more phone tag. How did I live without an easy to use calendar to keep me organized and best yet, no matter where I log the appointment it syncs with all of my other devices, I-Pad, I-Phone, PC computer, everything and I don't have to do anything extra. Contacts are so much easier to enter than my old android phone. I can put in as many numbers, email addresses, names, addresses as I like. The ease with communicating with my contacts is just too darn simple. Just pull up the contact, click a button on how I want to communicate and it is done, even the keyboard pops up if I want to text or email. My old phone had a slide out keyboard which I chose deliberately because I have long nails and just couldn't see me using the touch screen, boy was I wrong. Even with nails I can type away all I like, and believe me I type a lot. The spell correcting is usually very helpful, like everything it sometimes corrects things that weren't wrong, but overall it is a big plus. Voice mail is great, you can replay the message as many times as you like by just clicking on the number over and over. No more lost messages before I got all of the info. I also find the Call Back button super simple, I don't have to listen to the message to get the call back number any more. I added a hot spot option, of course it cost extra, but it allows me to use my computer anywhere. We were camping in a remote location one weekend, and I never lost a beat with my business. I also set up the hot spot and computer at Open Houses so I can show clients real-time information on comps, other homes for sale in the area even neighborhood info. I helped one couple find a place to have lunch to discuss the house I had held open. The battery life is terrific. My old android required me to recharge every night or I had no phone the next day. My I-Phone goes for more than one day and often I charge it just because the charger is handy rather than because it needs a new charge. Like all Apple products you can add apps to make your life easier. We share an app of the week in my office meetings. Some I like and some I don't, but everything I have added has been easy to upload and I can maintain them on my computer with I-Tunes as a back up. I would absolutely recommend the I-Phone to everyone. It isn't the cheapest phone in the world, but for this analog brain it is easy, intuitive and makes ruinning my life and business easier than I could have imagined.
