Much has been said about Larry Craig, a man who used to command respect from fellow Idahoans like myself (some still respect him, but that number has diminished greatly)...but I thought this Op Ed piece from the Washington Post put a great spin on the situation.  If you've followed this at all an...

The City of Trees Marathon and Half Marathon on Oct. 7, 2007 needs volunteers to work traffic and keep runners safe.  If you have the time and interest, volunteering would be great fun!  My mother, nearing 60 (oh, she'd kill me if she saw me post that) is a great runner...but she's sitting this o...

For those who are tired of hearing about Larry Craig, I'm sorry to say that he won't, in fact, be resigning any time soon.  Even though he's made promises to resign if he couldn't get his guilty plea withdrawn (notwithstanding his word play with "intent"), he's now (again?) showing his true color...

CNN just reported that Idaho Senator Larry Craig's attempt to withdraw his disorderly conduct guilty plea has been denied by the court in Minnesota.  The entire well-reasoned and well-written 27 page decision is available by following this link.  The court reasonably sets out the reasons why it i...

I have posted a few blogs about patently frivolous lawsuits and received some entertaining feedback (the most recent here: http://activerain.com/blogsview/215059/Frivolous-Lawsuits-now-Edwards).  Some lawsuits which sound frivolous probably have merit, and others that might have merit in reality ...

From AP...it appears as though the bad news on the housing turn-around is going to continue (whether you like to hear it or not).  According to KB Homes (per AP), the housing slump will "owrsen through teh end of the year and into 2008."  Interestingly, some people in the biz are talking recovery...

This morning I posted a little blog about frivolous lawsuits: http://activerain.com/blogsview/214942/Frivolous-Lawsuits-this-time.  Little did I know that the timing would be such that later in the day (as in mere moments ago), I'd be reading about John Edwards' position on stemming the flow of f...

I've posted a few blogs about frivolous lawsuits (see, for example, http://activerain.com/blogsview/212060/Suing-God-and-God).  Well here's another...to the tune of $5Billion.  This time it's against a very deep pocket--Google.  The lawsuit, filed in Federal Court in Pennsylvania, alleges that Go...

Ahhh...behold the falls of Idaho Falls.  See the water SPILLING OVER?  In some areas it flows over at a very rapid pace (and as an aside generates significant hydropower), and in other areas it  just trickles.  Got me thinking about the subprime mess.  In the beginning there was talk of "containm...
