I am a retired Greater Sacramento Realtor. My career spanned 40 years beginning in 1981, and ending in 2021. MY INTERESTS & HOBBIES: In addition to family activities, I am active in a Sacramento history group, and a local Sacramento area genealogy group. I actively research several family names. I also have a special love of cooking. For several years, I worked at an international software development company, which was represented by people from all over the globe. During that time, I was fortunate enough to learn special recipes from a number of them. They include, Indian, Caribbean, Spanish, Italian, Mexican, Romanian, Hungarian, Irish, and Carolina "Low Country" recipes. I have developed a special interest in mixing certain recipes from varying ethnic groups to create unique recipes and combinations not usually seen. Another of my favorite pastimes is gardening. And, I often find myself spending hours in my garden, and wondering where time has gone! I am interested in photography and cameras. This interest began as a child, and has remained and was perpetuated in my Real Estate career, family activities, and travel. Last but not least, I enjoy travel - both foreign and domestic.

In the earliest days of my 40 year career as a Realtor, my children were young and still at home.  During that time, they were active in competitive swimming. Originally, they swam on a local recreation team, then moved onward to the Sacramento YMCA.  Ultimately they all swam at the Arden Hills S...

About ten days ago, I experienced a little excitement at my home.  It was a hot and sultry summer evening.  I had just changed into my pajamas.  And I was vegging out on my bed.  I had just reached for the television remote, and was shuffling through Netflix, hoping to find something to watch, wh...

This Labor Day weekend ushered in the seasonal opening of Apple Hill. Each year in autumn, this little community, cradled in the Sierra Nevada Foothills comes alive and provides a cornucopia of nature’s treasures for all who visit.  There are apples of course – lots of them.  And, cider too!  Min...

When Carol Williams announced she and Anna Krutchten were hosting an August Challenge to ActiveRain bloggers titled, “Embracing Life’s Lessons,” I was at first, a little stumped as to where to put my focus.  However, after giving it some thought, I realized one of the more important lessons I’ve ...

Sacramento’s native daughter, Greta Gerwig is an amazing woman. She attended St. Francis High School, where my daughters, Jill and Tami, also attended, several years earlier. After graduation, Greta went on to write the 2017 movie, “Lady Bird,” which I had really enjoyed a few years ago. There h...

A few days ago, my kid (Jill) informed me that she belonged to a wine club. She suggested we take advantage of free wine tasting and pasta eating that was being provided by Crystal Basin Cellars, at Apple Hill today. I could find no reason to decline. It was a delightful time, trying to sip my way...
