I live and breathe construction. Really. I'm a registered civil engineer and have a PhD from Stanford in Construction Management. My husband and I manage a residential construction company AND we're in the midst of a multi-phase remodel of our own home. +++++++++++++++++++ Several years ago I noticed that many of the initial visits that I made to confer with homeowners were with women who wanted to improve their homes, but they were afraid. Afraid of making the wrong (and expensive!) mistakes and afraid of being ripped off by contractors. I figured that I could create and present a comprehensive review of the construction process to help people (men, too!) avoid many of the pifalls that give construction such a bad name. ++++++++++++++++++++ This blog will contain tidbits from my seminar, the ABC's of Home Building, as well as highlights of my own remodeling process. I'll be happy to address YOUR questions, too!
