Orlando Regional Stats for March 2009, as I've condensed from the Orlando Realtor online, April 27, 2009.
• 47.59 percent more homes Sold in March of this year than March of last year.
• 76.06 percent more contracts were filed in the month of March than in March 2008.
• More than twice as many homes are under contract in March 2009 compared to March 2008.
• The median price ($137,000) decreased by 37.73 percent compared to March 2008
• The average area interest rate dropped to its lowest point on record: 4.67 percent.
• 49.06 percent of the homes sold in March were either bank-owned (700) or distressed (111) homes.
• The median price of the bank-owned homes: $95,000
• The median price of distressed homes: $143,500
• The median price for "normal" homes: $174,995.
• The area's affordability index: a record high of 192.17 percent.
• First-time homebuyer affordability has increased to 136.65 percent.
