"ActiveRain has been a good link to real estate professionals in the Spokane area. Although the complete list of AR members in Spokane is not a lengthy one, I subscribe to the quality over quantity theory. Over time, I have met several of the real estate agents who are members and in particular, BethAnn Long, of Coldwell Banker. Fortunately I was available when she needed a mortgage broker and I am pleased that she gave me the opportunity to work with her referral.
Since then, I have sent her some prospective clients and the business circle is complete. Because so much of what we do is internet and phone based, I have gotten to know her more through her excellent blogs. Even though my ActiveRain success story isn’t “over the top” exciting, I think it reflects the nuts and bolts of ActiveRain’s existence. I am happy to be working with BethAnn come rain or shine and I look forward to working with additional members of AR’s community.
I should also give a shout out to my friend, Nevin Williams of Raleigh and San Diego, who introduced me to ActiveRain in 2010 and then generously gave of his time to teach me how to blog. (Which I am still learning to do!)"

Without your relentless pursuit of answers from the lenders' customer service representatives, there is no way this short sale would have been negotiated. You succeeded where I could not, and managed with a cheerful attitude and prompt responses, keeping me informed of all the action (or inaction) on the negotiations. I feel as though this sale actually having closed yesterday is a miracle, and I appreciate everything you did to make certain it happened.

Someone may never know the impact they have on another's life, unless we tell them. When you shared your story about your friend Rhonda, it helped me make the final decision to focus on health issues. Your dedication to physical fitness is a silent witness to others--without lecturing. About a week and a half ago, Rxxx and I began a program I obtained from my chiropractor--it is a food cleansing program and so far, Rxxx has lost 17 pounds! Me, not as much, but that is to be expected because of the demands of his job.

So glad your influence is in our lives--YOU make a difference, and I just thought you should know.

And you thought you were only our Realtor!

"About a month into a listing, I was talking to my seller, and she revealed to me that one of the reasons she called me to sell her house was because she had found me on some website (it was ActiveRain), and thought she was calling the developer of the community. I explained that I sold pre-owned homes, and gave her the phone number for the developer. Her best friend/neighbor/real estate agent from where she was moving thought "it was nice" that I had done that. She said she admired my honesty and helpfullness and never forgot it. It was a nice compliment, I was flattered, and I got the listing. It all started two years prior. One never knows where the business will eventually come from. It's all about paying your dues."

"I had a guy call me a few months ago. He found my information on ActiveRain. He was about to close on his house here in the Eagle Ridge Golf Community, an area I specialize in. He had asked his agent for information regarding what utility companies are used, and contact information for them. She did not know, and suggested that he "Look it up on the internet", which is what he did, and he found me! He actually called me after he closed, and thanked me for posting all of the utility information on a blog post, along with the respective links to the various utility companies. He further told me that he thought it was rather odd that his agent did not have this information available. He further mentioned that he wish he had found me earlier, and didn't really have 100% confidence in his agent, who really did not seem to know much about the area, which is probably true, as the agent is from another town, about 30 miles away. So, he said that after his brother visited him, his brother wants to move into the community, and he emailed his brother my website and contact information. I am currently working with the brother. As luck would have it, I am caught in a friendly sibling rivalry, meaning the brother has to buy a bigger and better house (read: more expensive) than what his brother bought... Still working with him, and the perfect property should be on the market soon... Indirectly, I got a client who never knew about ActiveRain, but came about it second hand."

"I was holding an Open House about three weeks ago. I usually pull in the flyers I have in the sign post box, as this forces people to actually come into the house to get information, rather than just grabbing a flyer and driving off. Occassionally, when I greet them and hand them information about the house, they may have a printout of the house from Trulia or Zillow. When I went to hand a person information, the already had a flyer in their hand. It was a printout of my listing from ActiveRain! I combine my use of RealBird to make a listing post of my open houses using the code from RealBird, which is quite easy to do, and it looks neat and professional. This is the person who we received an offer from her agent! There are so many ways to advertise a listing, and this woman apparently found me on the 'Rain. Good for her, good for me. We close in about 3 weeks."
